I have always been fascinated by figuring out the processes by which the things that I find beautiful are made. Color has also always been a big part of what inspires me.

My first career as an art director in magazine publishing allowed me to work with creative people in all aspects of art and craft, which was a constant source of inspiration. My second, in architectural art glass, gave me the opportunity to collaborate in not only designing but also hands on creating the glass for projects large and small.

Despite finding a lot of satisfaction in my work and enjoying the collaborative process that both careers required, I longed to make art for myself. It was not until during the process of studying silver smithing along the way that I discovered the art of enameling, which spoke to me immediately.

The breadth of techniques that I have learned in classes, both in person and online, from many generous and talented instructors has been such a gift. Adding color, texture and form to metal when creating my two passions, brooches and more recently vessels, is endlessly thrilling.
