LAYERS OF COLOURS: How to Deepen the Enamelling Expression with Kaori Juzu
Juzu is an artist on the fringe who is forging her own path with enamelling. Besides enamelling on a flat metal surface, she also abolishes all boundaries to let the abstract forms, be they geometric or organic, unfold in space and play with the variations of light. In this workshop, you will learn how to sift dry enamel on the organic shaped copper and how to manipulate the enamelled surface, interrupting the fusion just in time to preserve the brilliance and texture of the grains. Let’s try to find new expressions and possibilities by working with enamelling colours!
By using basic goldsmith-techniques, we can learn:
• how to shape a form with copper sheet
• how to combine different copper-elements together
With enameling, we can learn:
• how to sift enamel dry powder on an organic shaped copper-form on
both sides
• how to build different layers of enamel on the copper
• how to achieve unique expressions with enamel

The enamelled treasures of Kaori Juzu are microrevelations whose attraction never fades away. Since 2005 she has been invited to numerous group- and solo exhibitions in the world.
