Growing up in an artist's classroom doomed me to fall uncontrollably into an addictive love for the subtleties and powers of color. Coupled with my childhood desire to be an archaeologist, these melded into a lifelong reverence for the beauty of hand-wrought items, made with handmade tools and the dirt under one's fingernails, made at human speed. Items that are like nutrition for me. Enameling is the awesome alchemy that brings these points together. My work leans mainly upon the majesty and irreplaceable beauty of our natural world, from which my inspiration is instant, and is tempered with a nagging reminder to save her from the gnawing talons of progress.
