Wall Piece
Blackboard, copper, enamel
12 in. x 12 in. x 2 in.
I have crafted a wide variety of objects with many materials throughout my life. From soft, flowing fabrics to rigid metals, crafting a three dimensional form out of two dimensional raw materials gives release to my creative energy. Metal and enamel are currently my favored media and fulfill my need to transform the ordinary while challenging me to push past their perceived limitations. The copper provides the basis for a sound and satisfying structure, and the wonderful color palette of vitreous enamels gives life to the narrative of the piece. I find inspiration everywhere - in nature, current affairs, the state of the environment, and in found objects. Fodder for art surrounds me in my studio and home.
