Susan W. Craig is a Maryland artist who explores the story telling power of enameled jewelry and objects. As a retired scientist accustomed to expressing herself by making discoveries about the natural world and then publishing them using thousands of words, she is fascinated by the challenge of capturing personal memories, thoughts, and emotions in a single handmade object or piece of jewelry.

Susan began her foray into metal smithing in 2016 with an inspiring one-week course at Snow Farm MA, taught by Alyssa Dee Krauss. Since then, she has taken courses at the Baltimore Jewelry Center, at workshops around the country, and online. Her enameling teachers have included Jenn Parnell, Ricky Frank, Sandra McEwen (online), Merry Lee Rae (online), Judy Stone (online), Barbara Minor (online), Andy Lowrie, Cynthia Eid, and Kat Cole. The enameling books by Linda Darty and Karen Cohen have also been excellent teachers, as have her fellow amateurs.
