Sitong Chen is a contemporary artist and metalsmith. She holds a BFA in Metal from SUNY New Paltz and an MA in Jewellery and Metal at the Royal College of Art. Her practice explores the emotional and material connections between humanity and the natural world, with a particular interest in the symbolism and behavior of elements in nature.
Inspired by natural forms and transformations, Sitong draws on cultural and phenomenological research to examine how living beings—human and non-human—adapt to external change. Her work captures the fleeting moments and shifting states of water, using them as metaphors for emotional resilience and vulnerability. She approaches jewelry as an intimate, poetic language that translates experience into form.
