René Roberts - Cut It Out!

This unique workshop provides both an introduction to Photoshop, and to the wonders of creating detailed stencils with consumer die cutters (also referred to as "CNC machines") such as the Cricut and Silhouette. You'll work in Photoshop to design stencils from your own drawings or photos, and then you'll cut them out in class with a Cricut cutting machine. You'll learn about various stencil materials and their uses, and how to customize your designs and machine settings. Although the focus will be on cutting stencils and foils, René will demonstrate other tool options for embossing and engraving. The same Photoshop fundamentals can also be easily applied to etching, silkscreens, and decals. You'll need a laptop computer with a recent version of Adobe Photoshop installed on it (you can sign up for a free trial). Detailed handouts will guide your work going forward. If you're not a "tech person," fear not! René specializes in making Photoshop accessible to beginning users, and all skill levels are welcome.
