Product Details

In this workshop I would like to share the joy of creating jewelry, where shapes, colors, and sizes meet and interact. "Color" is naturally achieved with the medium of enamel. As each shape interacts with the space surrounding it, the shapes can elevate each segment and color, and also hold elements aloft. Through the shaping of copper, we can explore our own stories and make those stories more narrative with enamel colors. No enamelling experiences requires; one can be totally new to enameling. The basic goldsmith-skills, such as sawing, filing, and soldering skills, etc. are required/recommended. Alternatively, the students can bring some copper forms prepared in advance. Through the workshop I intend to cover an ability to develop shapes with copper plates and an ability to work with color by using sifting enamel technique and kiln-fired jewelry enamel technique. Enameling often demands patience, so a good humor and positive thinking are preferable. Curiosity to try something new is always most welcome. Let's see what happens in the enamel kiln!
