Residency Program

RESIDENCY PROGRAM

This year The Enamelist Society is pleased to announce our 1st Residency Program in cooperation with Pocosin Arts School of Fine Crafts, located along the Scuppernong River in Columbia, NC. The Enamelist Society, Inc. is offering this residency as a member benefit, therefore current membership in TES is a requirement.

Applications are due by midnight, eastern time, January 31st, 2023 with notifications by the end of February 2023. Jurors will be appointed by the TES Board. The 7-day residency will take place the week of April 17 – April 23, 2023.

The residency recipient will be awarded $1000 from The Enamelist Society for travel, food, and materials, and they will have access to a full metals/enameling studio plus lodging and kitchen privileges. The entire residency award overall totals approximately $2500.  

THE EBENDORF METALS STUDIO
The studio is well-appointed with a hydraulic press, a full soldering area, 4 Vcella kilns (2 #9, #13 and #18), Smith torches, a Durston rolling mill and guillotine shear, a buffing station, plus anvils, hammers and raising equipment. The Application Process

What you will need to submit for the 7 day residency:
-- A brief project description of work to be done along with what you hope to accomplish in 500 words or less.
-- 5 Images of past work and/or drawings of work to be completed during the residency.
-- $15 application fee.
