Student Opportunities

Alchemy, the 2011 Enamelist Society Conference in Gatlinburg, Tennessee offers many exciting opportunities for students of enameling.
  • The 9th International Juried Student Exhibition, (September 9 to October 29, 2011 at Arrowmont), juried by Deborah Lozier, will have its opening night reception at the conference.
  • Awards for the Student exhibition will be presented at the opening reception including the Mel Someroski Memorial Student Award
  • 2 designated student slots are reserved in each pre- and post-conference workshop.
  • All students with a valid ID from an accredited school receive a reduction on both their conference and workshop registration fees.
  • Student assistantships for workshops MAY be available.
  • Student assistants work with workshop instructors. This is a great opportunity to absorb workshop information without paying for the cost of the workshop. Limited participation in the workshop may be available, but not guaranteed.

  • Student Scholarships to offset workshop and/or conference registration fees are available. These scholarships are open to all students of enameling.
  • The Pat O'Neal scholarship offers $300 applied to fees.
    The Society is offering five scholarships of up to $330 per scholarship applied fees.

  • Volunteering is a great way for students to meet and work with other enamelists. Fill out the volunteer form now.
