Conference events officially begin in the afternoon on Friday, September 16, 2011 with a number of activities. Friday evening will be the opening reception for the 13th Biennial International Juried Enamel Exhibition and 9th Juried Student Exhibition in the Sandra Blaine Gallery at Arrowmont. Both Saturday and Sunday will be full of presentations, panel discussions, breakout sessions, shared interest group meetings and social functions.


New Event Art Market - In association with the Silent Auction, but limited to enamel art only, the Art Market offers you an opportunity to bid on artists' work.

Instant Gallery - An opportunity for conference attendees to show 1 or 2 pieces of their latest enamel work. This work may be for sale and is accompanied by a small photo of the maker in order to facilitate networking between attendees.

Raffle - A chance to financially support the Enamelist Society and win merchandise donated by our sponsors.

Auctions - Both a silent and live auction are held to financially support the Society's education and outreach efforts.. Bid on enamels, tools, equipment, books as well as enamel artwork.

Vendor's Room - A place to see and buy equipment, tools, supplies and books.

Connections - A space for information about enamel guilds, organizations and schools.

Pin Swap - Bring some pins you have made and trade them with other attendees in this favorite event. Donate one to the Society at registration and a complete collection will be part of the Silent Auction!

Tour of Cherokee Porcelain Enamel Corporation - An opportunity to learn about the industrial aspects of enameling. The Cherokee factory specializes in architectural panels, graphic and photographic murals, signage and general enameling of steel.

Membership Meeting - An opportunity to learn about the Society and take part in the business decisions affecting the members. Newly elected trustees will be announced.

Student Opportunities:

As part of the Society's mission, special opportunities are available to enameling students, both in accredited schools and other enameling programs.
