Student Opportunities

Surfacing, the 2009 Enamelist Society Conference in Oakland, California offers many exciting opportunities for students of enameling.

  • The 8th International Juried Student Exhibition, (July 22 – August 22, 2009), with juror Maria Phillips, will have its opening night reception at the conference.
  • The Mel Someroski Memorial Student Awards will be presented at that time.

  • 2 designated student slots are reserved in each pre- and post conference workshop held at The Crucible.
  • Students with a valid ID from an accredited school will receive a reduction on both their conference and workshop registration fees.
  • Student assistantships for workshops will be available. For more information contact
  • Student Scholarships to offset workshop and conference registration fees.

  • The Society is offering five scholarships to students in order to assist with the cost of registration and conference fees, up to $500 per scholarship.

  • Volunteer

  • Volunteering is a great way for students to meet people and get a reduced conference fee at the same time. Fill out the volunteer form now.
