Student Opportunities
Surfacing, the 2009 Enamelist Society Conference in Oakland, California offers many exciting opportunities for students of enameling.
- The 8th International Juried Student Exhibition, (July 22 – August 22, 2009), with juror Maria Phillips, will have its opening night reception at the conference.
The Mel Someroski Memorial Student Awards will be presented at that time.

2 designated student slots are reserved in each pre- and post conference workshop held at The Crucible.
- Students with a valid ID from an accredited school will receive a reduction on both their conference and workshop registration fees.
- Student assistantships for workshops will be available. For more information contact
- Student Scholarships to offset workshop and conference registration fees.
The Society is offering five scholarships to students in order to assist with the cost of registration and conference fees, up to $500 per scholarship.

Volunteering is a great way for students to meet people and get a reduced conference fee at the same time.
