Auctions – Live & Silent, Raffle, too!

As in past years, some highlights of our conference are our auctions and raffle. Funds raised at the auctions and raffle go to fund the Enamelist Society Grants Program and other projects that promote and encourage enameling.

What To Donate

gift certificates, books, tools, enamels, kiln furniture, copper and fine silver in any form and, of course, your enameled pieces. For those of you donating enameled pieces, your work does not have to be set, in fact, some of you find great joy in the creative process of setting enamels.

FAQ

1. What is the Silent Auction?

This 1 1/2 hour auction is composed of donations from fellow enamelists, vendors and collectors. Bid forms and donated objects are placed on tables. Bidders walk around the room placing bids for a set period of time. At the end of the auction the last bid wins. This is an hour and a half event so you will have plenty of time to eat dinner and bid.

2. When and where will the Silent Auction take place.

Saturday, August 8, 2009 at the Downtown Marriott in Oakland, CA

3. What and When is the Live Auction?

This year’s Live Auction will be held on Saturday night, August 8, 2009, after the Silent Auction. Auction items will include work from prominent enamelists as well as rare books, enamel memorabilia and hard-to-find supplies. We are inviting our membership, collectors and general public to participate. There will be paddles, a live auctioneer and lots of fun.
Bidders, who cannot be present will be able to view Live Auction donations online, and can bid by proxy (a Proxy Bid Form will be available on-line June 15, 2009).

4. When will the Raffle drawing take place?

The drawing will take place Sunday, August 9, 2009, at a special luncheon to honor the Society Achievement Award winners. Ticket holders need not be present to win.

5. I want to sell raffle tickets. How can I do this?

Contact our raffle coordinator, Betsy D'Addamio
